sat am. 06.05.10

the forecast is very late this morning... due to the 14+ hour electricity blackout from the vicious storm last night. rainfall was in the 0.7-0.8" range across mcleod ganj (almost 20mm), and we had wind gusts which were estimated around 60mph (95kph). skies are now mostly sunny (as of 11am IST), but the chance of a thunderstorm remains in the forecast for this afternoon and evening, and again on sunday afternoon. temperatures are very pleasant, and should remain that way for the next few days. the next big event we have our eyes on is a mass of tropical moisture surging northeast from the arabian sea. rain and thunderstorm chances will increase again for monday into tuesday, as this deep moisture bumps up against the mountains. heavy rainfall is possible...

SATURDAY: partly cloudy and very pleasant, with another chance of a thunderstorm or two during the afternoon and evening.
high: 25C (77F)

SATURDAY NIGHT: chance of a thunderstorm before midnight, otherwise partly cloudy.

SUNDAY: a mix of clouds and sunshine... just a slight chance of a thundershower.

MONDAY: becoming mostly cloudy with an increasing chance of rain and thunderstorms, especially by afternoon. more humid, but cooler.
high: 24C (75F)

TUESDAY: cloudy and unseasonably cool with periods of rain and thunderstorms likely. heavy rain is possible.
high: 22C (72F)

WEDNESDAY: some sunshine returns... but still a lingering chance of some showers. warming up a bit.
high: 25C (77F)
