sunday evening>

ahhhh.... sweet relief! after a very warm and sunny sunday morning and early afternoon, thundershowers managed to pop up, and have brought cooler temps, along with at least .25" (7mm) of rainfall. but DO NOT be deceived... the very warm airmass of the last few days will remain in place into the middle of the week, and that means we can still "look forward" to some of the warmest temperatures of the year, along with plenty of summer-solstice sunshine. a few pools of colder air aloft will bring us a continuing chance of heat-relief in the form of late afternoon thundershowers, but widespread and long-lasting rainfall will have to wait a week or so until the monsoon arrives...
