thursday morning>

a bumpy night... thunderstorms with strong winds blew through the area just after midnight, but are long gone just before sunrise. we're waking up to 21c/70f, with partly cloudy skies. a potentially stormy pattern remains in place today and tomorrow, as northwest flow aloft continues to interact with increasing moisture moving in from the southeast. THEN, as we get into the weekend, we have to turn our eyes to the mass of tropical, monsoon moisture which is lurking to our southeast. experience from years past dictates that this moisture can surge very rapidly into himachal pradesh when surface and mid-level winds are blowing from the southeast. however, we will have a weak westerly flow going through much of the weekend, which may prevent monsoon conditions from reaching us until next week. for now, we'll still target sunday-tuesday (27-29 june)... but check back for up-to-date info...
