tuesday evening>

we've had a few periods of sunshine today, in between lots of clouds... but those clouds have only yielded a few sprinkles up til 6pm. a strong upper-level disturbance remains over northern pakistan this evening, and is producing an extensive area of cloudiness and scattered showers and thunderstorms over a wide area of the western himalayas. this system will weaken as it drops southeast tonight, wednesday, into early thursday... but we'll stay in the line of fire for periods of showers and storms. high pressure aloft will strengthen as we head into the weekend, and that will bring a significant warming trend, as well as squash most of the rain potential for a couple of days at least. it appears that we could see some of the warmest temps of the summer season by saturday and sunday...
