wednesday evening>

the first half of our wednesday was comfortable and nice with some sunshine... the second half has been wet and breezy and chilly. we've had almost continuous thunder since around 2pm, with periods of moderate to heavy rainshowers. the upper-air disturbance responsible for the storminess is centered over kashmir this evening, and will continue to weaken as it moves slowly to the east. occasional thundershowers will remain with us through thursday, but then we have some dramatic changes on the way. a strong area of high pressure at the surface and aloft will be building into the area by the weekend... and is expected to bring us a few days of mostly dry weather, along with a return to summer-time temperatures. enjoy it, because the arrival of the monsoon is likely only about 10 days away...
