wednesday morning>

a thunderstorm is slipping by just to the south-southwest of mcleod ganj early this morning, with the satellite photo showing another area of thunderstorms to our northwest. that means it would be be a good idea to prepare for some rain again today. we're back in a very active pattern, with weak northwest flow in the upper atmosphere, and east-southeast flow of rich, moist air at the surface. that spells a mixed bag of weather for us through the rest of the week... periods of sunshine between bouts of shower and thunderstorm action. yesterday we picked up a solid half-inch of rain (13mm), and that could be repeated on any given day. temperatures, as mentioned before, are entirely dependent on sunshine. with a few hours of sun, it will be VERY warm and muggy, but if we get saved by the clouds, then temps will be relatively comfortable. in general, i've lowered temps for the remainder of the week.

still watching for a monsoon arrival perhaps on sunday. deep moisture is creeping along the front range of the himalayas from central nepal into uttar anchal, and could surge rapidly in our direction in the next few days.
