wednesday morning>

a new month is unfolding... but the previous month's weather will continue. this morning we have partly cloudy skies with areas of fog, and a temp of 18C/64F. there was no additional rainfall reported or recorded overnight.

HERE ARE PRELIMINARY RAINFALL TOTALS FOR AUGUST:
-near main temple... 44.65" (113.4cm)
-upper mcleod ganj... 39.23" (99.6cm)

it is only a matter of time before the skies open up and we get another heavy dumping of rain. the return to a very wet pattern which began on monday has already brought more than 6 inches of rain to parts of the area... and it's a good bet that we'll see another 3-5" (8-13cm) between now and friday. there may be a brief glimpse of sunshine this morning, but we'll then have another day of thick clouds and fog, with rain potential increasing throughout the day. there may be a bit of a drying trend over the weekend, but there is no indication that monsoon conditions will make any kind of significant retreat in the next several days...
