in and out of the rain... (am.24.feb.11)>

skies are partly cloudy early this morning, with a very chilly 40.5F (4.7C) here in upper mcleod ganj.  thanks to a couple of rounds of showers and thundershowers overnight, i have 0.15" (4mm) in the rain gauge... bringing the 24 hour total to 0.27" (7mm).

there's a break in the action this morning... but that doesn't mean the clouds and showers are gone for good.  the satellite photos show last night's wave of energy now moving across the himalayas into western tibet... but the main upper-level storm system is still lingering to our west, and will deliver a few more episodes of thick clouds and showers during the next five days.  temperatures are going to remain very cool for this time of year... but despite that... the snow line should remain above mcleod ganj.  there could be over a foot of new snow up toward triund by the weekend.

looking on the bright side, right now sunday appears to be perhaps the best day of the next several...
