more clouds than sun... (am.10.feb.11)>

we have quite a lot of high clouds obscuring the sky early this morning... with a temp of 47F (8C).  satellite photos show patches of mid and high cloudiness extending from himachal and kashmir, westward into afghanistan and iran. with our upper-level flow coming from the west, that means we'll be dealing with more clouds than sun for the remainder of the week.

our weather scenario is looking remarkably similar to what we had at this time last week... a slow-moving, slow-developing storm system to our west.  the only difference is that this approaching system doesn't look as potent as the last one.  still, we're in line for clouds, increasing rain chances, and more of those gusty winds.  currently, sunday and monday look to be the wettest and windiest days... with heavy snowfall likely again up above 2500m (8200ft).  although i'm sure most of us would prefer sunshine and warmer temperatures, it is great that we are getting the rain and snow this time of year, to ensure a decent water supply during the coming dry pre-monsoon months...
