slow changes... (am.11.feb.11)>

it's 47F (8C) just before sunrise this morning, with partly cloudy skies.  i was surprised to wake up and see so few clouds... and the satellite pic shows the majority of the thick cloud cover associated with this next storm system still holding off to our west.  this is indeed a slow-moving and slow-developing storm... but it appears that once it moves in, it will also be very slow to leave.  all of the available computer model data indicates we are in for a period of unsettled, cloudy, breezy and showery weather which could last into the middle of next week.

today will still be decent... clouds will continue to thicken up, and there may be some random rain showers.  we'll see more clouds, more wind and a better chance of showers on saturday... but sunday and monday continue to be the days with the BEST chance of crummy weather... i.e., clouds, wind, thundershowers.  cold air should remain well above mcleod ganj, so once again, snow (heavy at times) will be confined to elevations above 2500m (8200ft).  a reminder... sunday through tues-wed will not be a good time to be in the higher mountains.

temperatures will remain fairly mild, but will drop off during the early part of next week...
