waiting for more showers... (pm.24.feb.11)>

heavy, gray clouds blanket the area early this evening... but we did have a few hours of sunshine this morning which boosted our high temp to 50.5F (10.3C) around 11am.  it was another one of those days when it was balmy in the morning sunshine, but then just a couple of hours later, very chilly under the clouds.

we'll remain under the influence of a continuing series of upper-level disturbances right through the forecast period, which will give us nearly daily chances of showers, along with a good amount of cloudiness.  it is a great relief to get the sunny breaks, but i'm afraid those will be short-lived.  current data indicates that our very best chances of rain will occur from tonight into early saturday... and again from late monday through tuesday.  it still looks like showers will be of the scattered variety... not an all-day, persistent rain situation.

it's cold enough for plenty of snow to continue piling up at elevations above 2300m (7500ft) or so... and even down here in mcleod, temps will be cooling down even further in the coming 48 hours.

THURSDAY NIGHT: mostly cloudy skies, with a good chance of more showers and thundershowers developing.
low: 4C (40F)

FRIDAY: scattered showers and a few thundershowers likely.  otherwise mostly cloudy and cool.

SUNDAY: partly cloudy... just a slight chance of a brief shower.
high: 10C (50F)

MONDAY: partly to mostly cloudy with a better chance of more showers by late PM.
high: 11C (51F)

TUESDAY: mostly cloudy with a good chance of rain.
high: 10C (50F)
