another sunny morning... (am.26.mar.11)>

**UPDATE @ 4:49pm... i'm getting some big fat drops of rain up here at the top of mcleod ganj, even though the sun is shining!  probably not enough to measure, but a shower nonetheless...

it's another absolutely, totally clear morning... with a comfortable temp of 60.4F (15.8C) before sunrise.

our full-throttle spring weather pattern looks firmly established for the next several days... as temperatures are expected to rise even a bit more between now and early next week.  our warmest day of the season so far occurred back on 15 march, when we reached 77.5F (25.3C), and it appears that maximum may be in jeopardy, especially on monday or tuesday.

another indication of a typical springtime weather pattern is instability over the mountains: although temperatures continue to warm up at the surface, the warming in the upper atmosphere is lagging behind.  that's why we have been seeing the very rapid build-up of clouds over the dhauladar range during the early afternoon hours, leading to some rumbles of thunder and perhaps a period of showers up there.  this pattern doesn't lend itself to these thundershowers surviving long enough to drift downhill into mcleod ganj, but keep in mind the potential turn to more cloudy/thundery conditions during the afternoon hours.  by late sunday into tuesday, there will be a more potent upper-level disturbance moving through the area... which will increase the chances of scattered showers and thundershowers here at the lower elevations.  still, it doesn't look like a significant rain event at all...

SATURDAY NIGHT: clear to partly cloudy and mild.
low: 16C (61F)

SUNDAY: partly cloudy and warm, with a slight chance of an afternoon thundershower.

TUESDAY: a mix of clouds and sun... still a risk of a couple of showers/thundershowers around.
high: 24C (76F)
