approaching "normal"... (pm.11.mar.11)>

skies are partly cloudy this evening, with a bit of light haze and fog around the area.  we had a gorgeous, sunny morning, followed by a partly to mostly cloudy afternoon... and a high temp of 59.5F (15.3C).

the sunshine gave way to clouds very rapidly during the noon hour today... but with the setting of the sun, the clouds are just as rapidly dissipating.  much warmer air is moving in in the middle and upper levels of the atmosphere, but the warming is lagging just a bit at the surface, so far.  it takes a delicate balance to stabilize the atmosphere and keep the skies sunny all day... but hopefully we are heading in that direction.

a strong ridge of high pressure will continue to build across south asia during the next several days, so our warming trend still looks on track... with the most dramatically warmer weather scheduled for the first part of next week.  there will still be a bit of a battle between sun, clouds, and fog... but the sun should be progressively more dominant, day by day...
