better and better... (am.13.mar.11)>

we have perfectly clear skies at dawn this morning... with a current (and overnight low) temp of 52.3F (11.3C).

well, if all goes according to plan, today will be the warmest day of 2011.  satellite photos this morning show just a few thin, high clouds upstream (to our west-northwest), but the rapidly developing ridge of high pressure in the upper atmosphere is keeping things very calm and stable from the arabian peninsula all the way to the western himalayas.  we'll still have to be prepared for cumulus clouds developing over the mountains during the afternoon, but even that will become less of an issue during the coming days.

our warming trend is in progress, and will really kick into high gear between now and thursday, with a nice stretch of above normal temperatures for a change.  enjoy...
