mercury keeps rising... (pm.14.mar.11)>

today is the first day since i came back in mid-january that we've had 100% clear skies!  quite an achievement.  totally sunny days are somewhat of a rarity here, and are treasured... since we often get a major build-up of clouds over the mountains during the afternoons, even during generally fair weather patterns.  today's high temp was 68.5F (20.3C) here in upper mcleod ganj... but my good friends near the main temple have reported 76F (24.4C).  the warmest day of 2011.  by the way, please check out the 'LOCAL TEMPS' tab at the top of the page to see the general temperature forecast trends across our area.

our warming trend isn't finished yet... temps should continue to gradually moderate through the week, aided by lots of sunshine.  the high pressure ridge responsible for this turn to spring-time warmth is very robust for this time of year... but there are signs that it is going to be breaking down by the weekend.  in fact, a rather intense upper level disturbance is on the way for late friday through sunday... bringing us increasing rain and thunderstorm chances.  i guess we knew this couldn't last forever!  stay tuned for twice-daily updates as our ever-changing weather pattern evolves...
