summer in march... (am.15.mar.11)>

our pre-sunrise temperature this morning is 61.7F (16.5C)... that's what it should be in mid-april!  other than a few wisps of high, thin cirrus clouds, skies are clear.

the march mega-warming trend we've been enjoying the last few days is going to keep building today... it is really rare to see such a massive ridge of high pressure (and bubble of warm temperatures all the way into the upper atmosphere) this early in the season.  i am going to be bumping forecast temperatures upward even more between now and thursday.

changes are on the way by the weekend, however, as a strong upper-level disturbance starts to move in our direction, smashing down this big area of fair-weather high pressure.  temperatures aloft will begin to cool off dramatically, and that is going to create an unstable air mass... prime for thunderstorms by saturday and sunday.  in the meantime, take advantage of this early summer-like sunshine and warmth!

TUESDAY: mostly sunny skies... even warmer.
high: 24C (76F)

TUESDAY NIGHT: mostly clear and comfortable.
low: 17C (62F)

WEDNESDAY: lots of sunshine again... unseasonably warm
high: 25C (77F)

THURSDAY: sunny to partly cloudy and warm.
high: 25C (77F)

FRIDAY: increasing clouds, with a slight chance of a thunderstorm late in the day.
high: 24C (75F)

SATURDAY: partly to mostly cloudy skies.  scattered showers and a few thunderstorms possible.
high: 22C (72F)
