unsettled overnight... (pm.19.mar.11)>

skies are mostly cloudy this evening, with a few sprinkles near the main square.  we managed to get a couple of hours of nice sunshine during the middle of the afternoon, otherwise there have been lots of clouds around today, along with some occasionally gusty winds and a high temp of 66.9F (19.4C).

so far, most of the shower and thunderstorm action has remained to our west and north, right in the vicinity of the center of the disturbance and area of cold air in the upper atmosphere, which is now centered along the kashmir/pakistan border.  in fact, as of now (5.40pm) there is a broad area of rain and strong thunderstorms covering almost all of kashmir, and satellite photos show it developing towards the south and east.  that means that we are under the gun for some rain and storm development yet tonight.  stay tuned for updates, should things turn particularly nasty.

this storm system should be moving out of here rather quickly tomorrow, so expect a rapid improvement during the first part of the coming week.  rain chances will diminish, and temperatures will moderate once again, perhaps rising slightly above average for late march...
