calm and comfortable... (pm.14.apr.11)>

a super nice evening in progress... we have partly cloudy skies, with temps slowly cooling down from an afternoon high temp of 72.9F (22.7C).  the thunder held off today, although there was a pretty impressive accumulation of convective clouds over the mountains during the afternoon, once again..

those clouds are disappearing around and just after sunset, leaving us with mostly clear skies overnight, and another good bit of sunshine tomorrow morning.  our calm and quiet weather pattern of the last couple of days will be coming to an end soon, however.  the next in a seemingly never-ending series of upper-level disturbances is expected to arrive this weekend, bringing us an increasing chance of showers and thunderstorms starting friday evening, and peaking on sunday into early monday.  sound familiar??  that's because it's an almost identical scenario to the one which occurred earlier this week.  the computer models haven't come into agreement yet, but one model is showing the potential for moderate to heavy rainfall.  keep your eye on the sky (and the forecast) if you have outdoor plans this weekend.

temperatures have struggled back to within a couple of degrees of where they should be this time of year, but will not likely warm up much further before they drop again.  in fact, we'll see downright chilly weather again during the first part of next week...

high: 19C (67F)

TUESDAY: partly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower.  still on the cool side...
