easter SUNday... (am.24.apr.11)>

an idyllic easter morning in progress... with clear skies and a comfortable pre-sunrise temp of 62.6F (16.9C).

yesterday's high temperature tied the maximum for the year, but there is little doubt that today will indeed be the warmest day of 2011.  and there is also little doubt that temps will continue to warm during the following 2-3 days, thanks to our ridge of high pressure which is firmly in control from the surface all the way into the upper atmosphere.  sunshine will continue to dominate until tuesday... but then there are indications that a bit of energy and cooler air aloft will start to sneak back in, bringing back the 20-30% chances of an isolated afternoon thundershower, mainly in the mountains.

our temperatures during the next several days are going to be at least a couple of degrees above normal for the last week of april, both day and night... but keep in mind that it will be uncomfortably HOT down the hill towards kangra, palampur and especially pathankot, with highs there approaching 35C (95F).
