we have an impressive cluster of thundershowers tonight, extending from northern punjab into much of central and western himachal pradesh. they have rapidly developed just after sunset, in association with our now departing upper-level disturbance.
as of 8.24pm, moderate rainfall, and nearly continuous thunder and lightning are occurring across our area. i expect another 1/2" (1.3cm) in a few spots before this dies out... most likely well before midnight.
*9.20pm... WOW... i have 0.68" (1.7cm) in my rain gauge from these thundershowers during the past hour and a half. but it all appears to be winding down shortly.
