hospitality agenda... (pm.14.may.11)>

skies are mostly clear just before sunset this evening.  there has been lots and lots of sunshine today, with just a moderate build-up of clouds over the mountains this afternoon, and a couple of isolated thundershowers over in lauhal and spiti.  i recorded a high temp of 83.8F (28.8C).

the media and celebrity circus that accompanies India Premiere League cricket has started... and when the dharamsala area is showcased on nationwide television tomorrow afternoon for the first of three local matches, things should be looking good.  a very calm and quiet upper-air pattern continues to develop from the arabian peninsula to the western himalayas... providing lots of sunshine, summertime warmth, and very little chance of any significant rainfall.  of course every afternoon holds the potential for the development of a rogue thundershower over the mountain peaks, but it doesn't look like any of that action would make it down here to where we live, until perhaps the middle of next week.

temperatures will continue to warm up over the course of the next few days... likely surpassing 30C (86F) here in mcleod.  i think we can call it HOT down at the cricket stadium, where afternoon highs should be in excess of 35C (95F) throughout the week.  by the way, computer models are forecasting 43C (109F) for kangra on tuesday and wednesday!  we'll see if that turns out to be true...
