anticipating the next round... (am.27.jun.11)>

skies are mostly cloudy at dawn... but the visibility is good, due to a lack of fog at the moment.  the early morning low temp has been 67.6F (19.8C), with a current humidity reading of 93%.  there has been no additional rainfall overnight.

although there are lots of clouds evident on the satellite photos this morning, there are no huge areas of rain and thunderstorms across northern india, as we were seeing this time yesterday morning.  that really doesn't mean a lot though, as there could be rapid development of thundershowers at any time.  during monsoon season, we often get stretches of 12-24 hours without any rain... but a good downpour of an inch (2.5cm) or more is never too far around the corner.  it's likely that we'll pick up several inches of rain by friday, as conditions at the surface and aloft will be favorable for the occasional deluge.

we've definitely arrived at the time of year when drying of clothes is a major and time-consuming task, and during the coming weeks, the development of mold and mildew will start to become an issue... probably the two major down-sides of the season. :-(
