mornings still best... (pm.22.sep.11)>

it is 100% cloudy and foggy this evening, but there has been no rainfall for the second day in a row.  we've only received 0.48" (1.2cm) of rain in the past six days, which makes this the driest stretch of days we've seen since before the monsoon arrived in early june.  thanks to sunshine this morning, with a few glimpses into the early afternoon, we were able to make it to 71.6F (22.0C).

ok... so we've gotten rid of most of the rain for this monsoon season, but the clouds and fog are another story entirely.  we've had periods of thick fog during the late afternoons and evenings the last several days that rival anything in the very middle of the season.  unfortunately, i can't find any tangible evidence that this low-level moisture responsible for the gloominess is going anywhere.  we may have to wait for the next upper-level disturbance to sweep through here to clear out the atmosphere for good, but at the moment, there is nothing on the horizon.  so, it looks like we'll have to be content with the few hours of very pleasant morning sunshine we've been getting on a daily basis.  if you're a late riser... too bad for you!

monsoon withdrawal declarations are on the way for parts of northwest india... check the MONSOON'S DEMISE tab above for details.
