no significant changes... (am.4.oct.11)>

we have mostly clear skies at sunrise this morning.  the overnight low has been a rather mild 62.1F (16.7C), and there has only been a trace of precipitation in the past 24 hours.

a narrow band of moisture continues to hug the front ranges of the himalayas... not only here in himachal, but all the way from kashmir southeastward through nepal into sikkim... while the rest of northern india enjoys clear skies.  clouds and fog continue to develop each and every day by late morning, with isolated to widely scattered showers and thundershowers during the afternoons as well.  we are all very accustomed to this routine by now, and are still waiting for a distinguishing weather feature that might be able to move us along to where we SHOULD be in early october.

there is a series of upper-level disturbances on the horizon as we head toward the end of the week.  i still don't think they will be strong enough to totally expel all this lingering moisture, it will be interesting to see if there might be a shade of improvement after they pass, sometime over the weekend.  stay tuned...
