october rumblings... (pm.1.oct.11)>

there are patches of blue sky out there this evening, but also spotty rain showers with thunder around the area.  rainfall has been barely measurable up to this point, but check back for updates.  today's high temp was only 68.2F (20.1C).

all in all, today has been a bit of an improvement over what we've seen for the majority of days this past week.  there was great sunshine until about 10am, then glimpses of sun off and on into the mid-afternoon, before the thunder and light showers showed up.

there are no noteworthy pattern changes ahead... the flow aloft will remain from the northwest, which will carry in a few random, fast moving upper-level disturbances.  this persistent low-level moisture isn't going anywhere either, so it will provide the fuel necessary to keep scattered thundershowers in the forecast, mainly during the afternoon hours.  we'll continue to see some nice periods of sun, especially during the mornings, so take advantage of that for laundry drying if you can.

temperatures this past week have been very slowly dropping... both high and low temps... but remain near or slightly warmer than normal for the start of october.
