something to watch... (pm.13.oct.11)>

a gorgeous sunset is in progress... after a day when clouds claimed dominance over the sunshine.  we had a high temp of only 68.4F (20.2C), and the humdity was higher today, ranging from 65-80% for most of the day.

we're still keeping an eye on a fairly vigorous upper-level disturbance that will swing from northern afghanistan through northern india during the coming 36-48 hours.  mainly mid- and high clouds have developed ahead of this system, although we did get a period of lower, thicker clouds for a couple of hours this afternoon as well.  computer models continue to stubbornly refuse to show any significant rain development as this system pivots through here... but i think it's wise to be prepared for the potential of a period of showers and/or thunderstorms between tonight and saturday afternoon.

our humidity levels will again plummet in the wake of this disturbance, so we should see a return to bright sunshine and drier air by the latter half of the weekend.  no significant change in temperatures is expected... they will continue to depend almost entirely on the amount of sunshine available.  we'll remain in that zone where switching from t-shirts to fleeces a few times a day might be necessary...
