shower risk... (am.5.nov.11)>

the sun is shining through a few mid-level clouds early this morning, with a humidity reading of 52%.  the overnight low temp was 51.8F (11.0C), which is the coolest i have recorded at my location this season.  rainfall during the past 24 hours was 0.04" (1mm), which occurred mainly between 3-4pm yesterday.

today we will still have to contend with a bit of an unsettled atmosphere, as a chunk of energy continues to slide through aloft.  that means that there will be a slight to moderate chance of a period of showers and/or thundershowers this afternoon.  there will still be a good bit of sun... just keep in mind the potential for (what should be) a brief round of wet weather.  it looks like there is a fresh dusting of snow on the mountains... and there could be more of that on the way today.  be prepared if you're heading up above triund.

things will quickly settle down tonight, tomorrow, and into the middle of the coming week.  sunshine, generally low humidity levels, and a rather dramatic warming trend are all in the forecast during the next several days...
