higher and higher... (pm.17.mar.12)>

There are some streaks and thin patches of high cirrus clouds overhead this evening, but the sun is firmly in control as it dips toward the western horizon.  I recorded a high temperature of 69.3F (20.7C) just before 4PM... which sets a new bar for the warmest of 2012.

As warmer air continued to arrive in different layers of the atmosphere this morning, we were getting all kinds of mid- and high-level cloudiness... all the way until around 1PM.  I was nervously preoccupied that our Saturday was going to be spoiled, when things took a sudden turn, and we ended up with lots of sunshine for the remainder of the afternoon.  The warming trend isn't over yet... temperatures will continue moderating both tomorrow and Monday, taking us above normal for the middle of March.  It is possible that my forecast high temps are on the conservative side, considering that computer models are still going for 32C (90F) for Kangra at the beginning of the new week.  At any rate, just be ready for warmer weather than we've seen since last October!

An upper-level disturbance is on its way early next week, and will increase the chance of some showers and thunderstorms while bringing in some cooler temperatures.  Best rain chances look to be Monday night and Tuesday at this point...
