sunshine to the rescue... (am.09.mar.12)>

It's shaping up to be a beautiful morning, with totally clear skies and calm winds.  But it is very chilly for this time of year... I've recorded an overnight low temp of 43.3F (6.3C) which is the coldest here at my place since the 17th of February!!

Fortunately, we'll have 100% sunshine this morning to ease the chill... but even our high temps this afternoon are going to be running several degrees below normal for March.  The big pool of unseasonably cold air which has been hanging over us the past couple of days will modify and moderate as it drifts southeastward today.  The usual concern in a situation like this is that there may be enough instability generated by surface heating to cause some clouds, and isolated thundershowers to pop up.  I think rain chances are minimal today... but be aware of the outside chance.

Although we don't have a strong surge of spring-time air headed our way... we do expect a steady and gradual warm-up as we head through the weekend into early next week.  There will be a good amount of sunshine as well, but an increasing chance of some thundershowers by late Monday and Tuesday...
