weak system overhead... (pm.12.mar.12)>

After a sun-filled start to the day, we're ending our Monday with mostly cloudy skies.  I recorded a high temp of 62.4F (16.9C) around 1:00pm, before the clouds thickened up.  There has been no rainfall yet today... with the humidity reading a very low 32%.

These clouds are being manufactured by the upper-level disturbance which will be moving from northwest Pakistan into northern India overnight.  It remains to be seen how much rain can be squeezed out of our ultra-dry air mass... but I think there is at least a 50/50 chance we could get a round or two of showers and/or thunderstorms during the coming 24 hours.  I'll be surprised if amounts exceed 1cm (0.40"), however.

This system should be out of here by Tuesday night... leaving us with a generally dry and quiet atmosphere for the rest of the week.  A gradually building ridge of high pressure aloft will allow temperatures to resume their warming trend, with the warmest weather of 2012 expected by Friday and Saturday...
