atmospheric adjustments... (am.17.apr.12)>

It is overcast at sunrise this morning, and it looks like there could be some sprinkles or light showers around the area, although I have nothing in my rain gauge as of now.  Cool air is still hanging in... the overnight low here in the upper part of town has been 53.8F (12.1C).

Major adjustments in the atmosphere are underway, and that is keeping patches of clouds and even some random showers lingering throughout much of northern India this morning.  Warmer air in all levels of the atmosphere is trying to build back into the area, after these last several days of unseasonably cool temperatures. As this happens, it will remain moderately unstable... so we'll have to keep a heads-up for a random shower or thundershower.  Thus far, our warming trend hasn't really materialized, but it still looks like we'll be seeing a dramatic surge of warmer air as we get into the middle and latter parts of the week.

A more substantial upper-level storm system will be heading our way over the weekend, which should give us another chance of some significant rainfall.  However, the last couple of runs of the computer model data is looking less impressive... so we'll continue to watch...
