the comfort zone... (am.19.apr.12)>

Other than some very thin, high clouds, our sky is clear at sunrise this morning.  My low temperature here at the top of McLeod Ganj has been a very mild 61.2F (16.2C)... FINALLY back to normal for the season.  We've had no rainfall since the brief noon shower yesterday.

This return to seasonal temps has been a long time in coming, but it looks like we'll now get to enjoy some genuine spring-time warmth for at least a few days.  A bubble of high pressure has been trying to form over north and west India for a couple of days now, and seems to have finally succeeded.  Although we've seen at least a random shower and a few rumbles of thunder almost every day for the past week and a half, it is possible that we can escape it today... although my confidence isn't terribly high.  Even tomorrow is looking a bit more stable than recent days.

The next storm system is already waiting in the wings, however.  An unusually deep trough of low pressure is currently organizing and moving into Afghanistan... and is expected to move into our area over the weekend.  It does look like it will be weakening on arrival... but there will likely be enough moisture and dynamic energy to give us another shot at some significant rain and thunderstorm action... starting on Saturday.  Of course, we'll be watching carefully as the situation unfolds...
