the eighties... (am.08.may.12)>

Other than some patches of very thin, high clouds (and increasing haze), we have sunny skies on this Tuesday morning.  My overnight low temp of 66.9F (19.4C) is the warmest I've recorded this year so far.

It is pretty obvious that the warmer air has now firmly established its grip on our neighborhood here along the foothills of the Dhauladars.  It was a dicey and messy transition, but we made it.  Believe it or not, temperatures continue to warm throughout all layers of the atmosphere, so we should see this summer-time weather remain with us for an extended period.  The average high temp right now is exactly 80F/27C for McLeod Ganj, but we should be a couple of degrees above that for several days.

Of course the risk of sudden thundershowers is always a concern, even if things appear to be calm and stable.  Just don't be totally shocked if there is development during the afternoon/evening hours, and be prepared to take cover if necessary.  By Friday, an approaching upper-level disturbance will give us a better chance of more widespread thunderstorm action -- cooling temps down a bit over the weekend.
