seasonally appropriate... (pm.21.may.12)>

We have both clouds and sunshine this evening during the hour before sunset.  It has turned out to be a very nice day, after we got rid of the thundershowers during the early morning.  My rainfall total for the past 24 hours stands at 0.14" (4mm), all of which occurred between 10:00pm last night and 8:00am today.  Temperatures were a bit cooler than they've been during most days of the past week or so -- I recorded a high of 82.0F (27.8C) just before 4:00pm.

A broad upper-level disturbance is anchored just to our northwest this evening, generating widely scattered showers and thundershowers from northern Pakistan into Kashmir, with isolated activity further south.  The cold air aloft associated with this system will keep our atmosphere on the unstable side for the next 12-24 hours, which means we may yet see another round of thundershowers overnight and Tuesday.  As we've seen thus far, rainfall amounts should be rather light for the most part... just don't be shocked if thunder and wind kick in again later tonight.

On Wednesday, a high pressure ridge will build in... causing temperatures to warm up throughout all layers of the atmosphere during the latter half of the week.  Rain chances will be small, with strong May sunshine firmly in control.  We are now approaching what usually turns out to be the very warmest time of the year (last week of May, first week of June), and temperatures should be right in line with that.
