another shot... (pm.22.oct.12)>

Monday's stats:

Early morning low temp: 56.8F (13.8C)
Afternoon high temp: 66.2F (19.0C)
Rainfall: none

There is a new dusting of snow evident on the higher reaches of the Dhauladars as the clouds dissipate this evening.  Clouds made a desperate attempt to build into showers and thundershowers this afternoon, but it appears that all of that action remained further up in the mountains yet again.

The last in a long series of upper-level disturbances will be dropping southeastward across our area later tonight and Tuesday.  Although there is an impressive amount of dynamic energy aloft expected to swing through, moisture is severely lacking, so we may continue to escape any significant rainfall here in the immediate McLeod Ganj area.  We'll keep the 20-30% chance of a passing shower/thundershower in the forecast, so keep that in the back of your mind.

One thing that does appear likely is another noticeable drop in temperatures sometime between tomorrow and Wednesday.  This latest disturbance will be pulling some crisp and cool central Asian air across the western Himalayas in its wake, which should deliver the coolest temperatures of this autumn season for us to savor during the latter part of the week.
