clearing out... (pm.06.nov.12)>

Tuesday's stats:

Early morning low temp: 51.6F (10.9C)
Afternoon high temp: 63.3F (17.4C) -- at 12:50pm
Rainfall: trace

By November standards, we've had a fairly exciting day.  An area of low pressure in the upper atmosphere has been moving across the area during the past 24 hours or so, and managed to trigger some autumn thundershowers here along the Dhauladars this afternoon.  Precipitation -- both rain and snow -- appears to have been very light, as expected, but there was a combination of a few drops of rain, a few ice pellets and even some granular snow around the upper part of our area during the early afternoon.  There was also some thunder (shortly after 1:00pm), along with a brief period of very strong and gusty winds (around 2:30pm).

That system is moving off to the east this evening, but several days of cooler weather are anticipated in its wake.  Temperatures have been generally above normal for about the last 10 days or so, but it looks like we're on the brink of an extended period of near normal to slightly below normal temperatures as we head toward the weekend.

The classic November combination of sunshine and afternoon mountain cloudiness will dominate during this forecast period -- with very little chance of any rain or snowfall.  This is exactly what is to be expected during this time of the year.
