sun through cirrus... (am.17.dec.12)>

A very thin layer of cirrus clouds is dimming the sun just a bit early this morning, but still, this is the nicest and most pleasant morning around here since last Thursday before our big storm started moving in.  My low temp here in the upper part of town has been 44.4F (6.9C).

Satellite pics show a broad area of mainly mid- and high cloudiness well off to our west, but some of it is already spilling into parts of northwest India.  Those clouds will compete with the sun today, but our temps should still be very close to normal for the middle of December... my forecast high of 53F (12C) could be a little on the low side.

Our next disturbance will move in tonight, and affect us much of Tuesday.  This system will likely stir up a few rain showers around the area, but amounts should be much lighter than what we received during last week's mega-storm.  In fact, a couple of the computer models are keeping almost all of the precipitation up in the higher elevations, where it would be in the form of several inches of new snow.
