starting with sun... (am.08.may.14)>

For the first time in a while, we have totally clear skies at sunrise.  I'm recording a low temp of 60.6F (15.9C), and there has been no rainfall overnight.  Humidity this morning is 43%.

I've recorded at least a trace of rainfall on each of the first seven days of this month, for a total of 0.71" (1.8cm).  That's not a huge amount of rain by any means, but it's a pretty healthy start, considering the average total rainfall for May is just 2.30" (5.8cm).  It looks like we're still going to have to be aware of the risk of some afternoon thundershower action today through Saturday, despite the fact that our early summer atmosphere is expected to stabilize slightly.  Sunshine should be easy to come by during the coming few days, just don't be surprised if there is a build-up of clouds and a shower or two during the PM hours.  Temperatures have been lagging below normal the last couple of days, but should be rebounding as we head toward the weekend.

Extended range data is showing a rather long and drawn-out period of potentially wet weather beginning on Sunday, and lasting through the majority of next week.  It's a very unseasonable type of pattern, which could also deliver much cooler than normal temperatures during the mid-month period.  We'll keep an eye on how that evolves...
