low intensity... (pm.08.jul.14)>

Tuesday's stats:

Low temp: 65.1F (18.4C)
High temp: 77.4F (25.2C)
Rainfall: 0.10" (3mm) -- updated @ 8:08pm

Again this evening there are a few patches of blue sky, otherwise we have clouds and isolated light rain showers in the area.  Rain showers (and some rumbling thunder) were a bit more pronounced today than yesterday, but still we're talking about very minor activity for this time of year.  Most of the very light rainfall occurred between about 1:00 and 5:00pm, and as you can see from the stats above, amounts were hardly measurable.  There was off and on sunshine today as well, keeping our temperatures slightly above normal for early July.

We're still dealing with a very weak phase of the monsoon right now, and tonight's data indicates that we'll have another several days of this before we ease back into a scenario that will be more normal for what is getting close to the middle of July.  I'm kinda shocked that I've been back here for three days, and I haven't even seen any fog!  Humidity mainly in the 60-70% range is quite far below the saturation point, which again, is abnormal for this stage of the game.

There will probably be more of this isolated/scattered shower and thunder activity mainly during the afternoon/evening hours as we head toward the end of the week, but I still don't expect any long-lasting, widespread, heavy rainfall.  Computer models are trying to come to some sort of agreement on when the next wave of deep tropical moisture and atmospheric dynamics conducive for heavy rain development will arrive.  It could be as early as the weekend, and as late as about Monday night or Tuesday of next week.  Stay tuned as we watch it come together.
