SEPTEMBER RAINFALL

The September rainfall tally is off to a very slow and sluggish start, which is in line with the very lackluster monsoon conditions which happened during the latter half of August (apart from the huge amount of rain we had on Saturday, 27 Aug).  The normal/average rainfall for September is 15.9" (40.5cm) -- which makes it the third wettest month of the year.  However, the average date for monsoon withdrawal in the Dharamsala area is around the 17th of the month, so the likelihood for heavier rains diminishes as September wears on.  At least that's what the historical/climatological data tells us...
